Electric separation fulfills a very important role in the separation of metal-containing waste, foremost in the separation of conductors and non-conductors.
Vortex current separation is based on the phenomenon of the charge being forced into a circular pattern by the Lorentz-current when in a high-speed conductor within a magnetically inductive space. Due to this the created eddy current’s magnetic field is the opposite charge to its parent magnetic field, so the conductor takes up a perpendicular positionon a plane (gets thrown). All this is without effect on the movement of the non-conductive material‘s particles and pieces.
